Justice-Involved Program

In North Carolina, people returning to the community after incarceration are 40 times more likely to die from an opioid overdose during the first two weeks after release than the general population. GCSTOP’s Justice-Involved Program provides in-person outreach at the Greensboro and High Point Detention Centers, helping people establish connections to care and resources that continue after release.

Our team provides:

• Linkage to medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) 

• Overdose prevention education and naloxone

• Counseling and case management

• Connections to substance use treatment and other community resources

• Planning and coordination of care before and after release

Our team works with individuals at every stage as they navigate the justice system, helping create a bridge to resources and support in the community.
